We had such a great time at this wedding on 9/11, the 10 year anniversary of the tragedy at the World Trade Center in NY. This ceremony was such a beautiful, God-centered celebration of love, family, beauty and all that is wonderful and full of joy. We were guests at this wedding and were so happy to have been given permission to shoot along the sidelines. What an amazing couple. We love you both and are blessed to be a part of your family!

There is no more gorgeous couple than Ben and Kadie. They are subtle and sexy and funny… nothing over-the-top… just amazingly beautifully and overwhelmingly in love. When people approach me (Caryn) with a request to do boudoir portraits, it really takes everything I’ve got not to start giggling. Laughing, really. Not that they aren’t gorgeous people with everything it would take to get some amazingly hot shots for their spouses, it’s me. I’m apparently juvenile. Can you imagine me saying, “it’s not you, it’s me” when they throw this request out there?! It wouldn’t work. I know this. So I probably begin to look like I’m choking on my chewing gum. I like this kind of photography in an artistic sort of way. I even attempted to draw naked human beings before, when I was in college, and didn’t know how to keep my composure then either. But I like that kind of artistic image…. like I like dogs and cats. Just, other people’s dogs and cats. I find it all hysterical. In a funny kind of way. So please understand, if I suggest an amazing photographer for you when you ask if we shoot boudoir portraits, it’s not you, it’s me. I think I have to stick with fully styled, fully clothed and fully upright types of images.

Now, with all of this said, a few months ago I got a call. It started out sounding like she wanted some lounging around in underwear shots and I held back the giggles. As she explained her vision, I heard her say she’d be clothed enough to shoot outdoors, in public if needed. What?! I know this girl a little bit… I thought she was more reserved than that… and then she said it. It’s just a pin up, NOT a boudoir session. (Oh, thank goodness!!!) And she wanted to be in a dress and in her wedding dress. NOW we’re talking!! And I’m SO glad we both said yes.

So here are a few of our favorites from that cold rainy night. Happy Birthday Bianca’s husband, Andy!! Enjoy.

I love Sogno Winery. I do. I love the owners, since they’ve been amazing to our family. Their wines have been amazing the last couple years and their property is gorgeous. So we were really excited when Joanna and Garett asked us to join them out at Sogno for their long awaited wedding day. It was in the high 80′s the day before the wedding with sun glaring all over the place where the guests would be seated. And the weatherman said it would be in the 100′s two days later. But on Joanna and Garett’s day, it was a breezy, beautiful, blue skies with fluffy white cloud day. And in the mid 80′s with those clouds blocking the suns harsh rays. Absolutely amazing. Here’s what we got to be a part of that special day.

I would like to take this moment to say, “Oh. My. Gosh.” Why? I’ll tell you: Luke and Brittany’s wedding blew us away. Brittany, was stunning from beginning to end. Adorable, poised and graceful. She doesn’t know it yet, but we’ll be using her as a model one of these days.

As photographers, it’s such a joy to be allowed in the doors of a wedding between two people so in love and so Christ centered. These two are starting their lives together in just the right place.

We had a blast and judging by the way these two families got down with their bad selves on the dance floor, everyone else did too.

When I met Rachael, she offered me some kind of popcorn or cotton candy flavored liquor drink that made me think of my dentist and the long overdue teeth cleaning I needed ~ certainly more than that drink! But she was so hospitable about it that I just had to take the thing off her hands! Later on that night I learned she was planning a wedding. My dear husband convinced her we were the best choice for photographer. And she agreed. So here she is, the stunning and spectacular Rachael and her fine husband Tim. And thanks to the talented Jordan Lewis and Ashley Young for their gorgeous angles and compositions in a selection of these images. We make an amazing team, if I may say so myself!

Meet Kumi and Mike, a beautiful couple who recently moved here from Japan. We had a blast spending time with them at the Sogno Winery. Congratulations to both of you as you start your new lives together!

Congratulations Jim and Teri! If you haven’t celebrated with the Scottish, you’ve missed out on something fun and wild! We were also blown away by how much passion they have for each other and for everything they do. Here are some of our favorite images from the rehearsal party and from the wedding day.

So while we were in New York, shooting Michelle and Steve’s wedding, we had the honor of meeting Johnny Maestro and the Brooklyn Bridge, the Doo Wop, R&B, Pop, Rock band from Long Island, NY.   The groom’s dad is the first tenor for the group and band manager, Les Cauchi, and you’ll know them by their hits, “Sixteen Candles” and “The Worst That Could Happen”, just to name a few.  The wedding guests were all up on their feet as the group sang and erupted in applause as they finished up. What a night!

Here are some images from the reception. You’ll see Mr. Cauchi’s grandchildren keeping the doo wop style alive as they dance to the music!  He sang to them with this smile and glitter in his eye that will not soon by forgotten.
