Eikon will travel. Especially to shoot Sonora High school seniors! Congratulations Morgan and wow, time sure DOES fly.

Our kids love their babysitters. They love all of them. But Sara is simply the sweetest, most engaging, silliest girl they know, AND she vaccuums. Oh, and she is strict. They know who’s boss without feeling “beaten up” and they know who loves hanging out with them, even if she does have to put them in time out. It’s so wonderful. And here she is, serving up some serious sass in front of the camera for her Eikon Senior Style Session. Cori at Moxie of course set her with some seasonal styling and gorgeous hair and makeup. Why do you think the Senior Style Session is the hit with our seniors?! We all love to be pampered by the best! Thank you again, Cori!

Shirley Temple has nothing on these little dancers. No kidding, what a ton of laughs and giggles with the little ones and some amazing jumps and moves by the teens. We’re so happy we got to spend two full days and nights putting on the glitz and glamming it up for photos! And on a side note, let us know what you think of the new roll up hardwood floors!

During our recent stop in Sonora and Columbia, we had the incredibly good fortune to catch up and shoot with our friend Yvonne, affectionately known as Bon. She tells herself she really only wants to shoot nice images of her girls, BUT, I believe she has an amazing eye and a serious emerging talent that somewhere in her secret thoughts, she wonders what would happen if she jumped completely in. She shoots beautiful black and white storytelling images for Rich Miller Photography but wants me to believe it’s just because the camera is set to “easy” setting and away she goes. Well, have YOU ever tried to capture the giggle between a bride and her groom moments before everyone else captures the classic kissing shot and missed? Or have you ever tried to capture the look of his soft breath on her neck when they get their first moment alone after the ceremony and before the 54 family shots have to be taken? It’s no easy feat and yet it comes naturally to Bon.

All that said, she took us along on a senior session she was working on and we giggled our way across Columbia and Sonora with this cool country girl and her family for what turned out to be one of my favorite sessions this year. Thanks Bon for bringing us along! And Cori Mensing, once again, thanks for your styling and your all around great sense of spirit and adventure!! Everything and everyone always looks better when you’re there!

Clearly, we love our facebook site. We update it daily. But I just can’t let another day go by that we don’t say hello to our blog community! Hello friends!! We’re shooting a ton of fun stuff right now, particularly high school seniors. But what’s been really fun for us lately has been branching out into the epic world of 8th graders!! Yes, what a cool crew of kids. You know how fun it is to be on the top of the school food chain, moments before you drop into your local high school freshman class… well, we’ve decided we want to capture their cool factor while they’re on top of the world, living out loud, laughing with their friends and strutting their stuff in heels and dresses or shirts and ties. They rock. I want to rewind time and get a chance to redo my own 8th grade thing, but alas, I’ll just have to live vicariously through these guys. Check it out. If you know anyone graduating middle school, jr. high school or an elementary school that goes out to 8th grade, give us call or send us a note. We have an incredibly fun time on location capturing them and we get the feeling, they’re having fun too!!

Last year we met the Troquato family, a wonderful, warm, friendly and beautiful group of people looking for a new family photographer since their move to the foothills. We were SO happy they picked us because you cannot walk into their home and not feel like a welcome part of their family. My kind of people! Gina was a junior then and we already knew we’d have a fun time capturing her senior session this fall. So… here it is, after a day of laughing like hyenas on location… my favorites from the day.

Lauren is a popular name. For a teenager. We knew this when our little Lauryn was born 5 years ago and it sounded cool to me that our baby girl would have a name that was not currently overwhelmingly popular, but a name used for the “big girls.” She does giggle when she hears of another Lauren or Lauryn in the world. And this Lauren encompasses all that is cool, stylin’, fun, and popular. And that always makes taking pictures more fun! So, introducing High School Senior ~ Lauren. Here’s Kelsey. She’s is a senior at Sac High. I get so excited when I meet seniors who are smart, have their heads screwed on straight and are forging a clear path towards their dreams. This time next year, Kelsey will be experiencing her freshman year of college. Ah, the memories of youth. I’m so excited for her! I know she will be a “supastar” wherever she goes. She’s starting college apps this month and I know she’ll knock their socks off! She’s got it all – brains, beauty, athleticism and the sweetest personality. SLO or UCLA – you’d better pay attention and snatch her up!

Introducing the fabulous Yasmin, our newest Eikon fan and Senior Style friend. Another knock down, kicking-rear-and-taking-names style by Cori Mensing at Moxie Salon that brought out the most gorgeous shine in Yasmin’s hair and the most stunning eyes we’ve seen in quite a while! What a gorgeous girl and we had a great time traipsing around El Dorado Hills Town Center in peacoats and gowns. Thank you for keeping it so real, Yasmin. And thank you Parissa for keeping it so fun!
