When we set out to find the words and meanings behind Eikon PHotography, we found what truly defines each of us here: experience. This session epitomized that sentiment for me (Caryn) this month. We met Timery through a perfect random course of events. Her mom set up the senior session for her daughter over the phone without ever having met us or seen much of our work. But she heard we provided an experience in capturing images, rather than simply capturing senior portraits. We met at Studio Moxie where our seniors get pampered with hair, makeup and clothing styling by the talented (and very funny!) Cori Mensing. As Timery got beautified and stylized… the skies grew darker and gloomier and the weather dropped further and further toward the freezing zone. But she didn’t blink an eye or question for one moment that this was going to be an experience she’d grab onto and hang on for the ride! We didn’t have time to drive to a fancy location or trendy spot… so we ran outside and started firing away wherever our hearts and minds brought us! We ran, we laughed, we shivered (seriously, it was SO cold!) and we dodged misty rain. This was EVERYTHING each of us at Eikon talk about when we say it’s about the fun, the laughs, the moments we connected and about feeling beautiful, special and important. As we wrapped up the session, it was raining and as we got into our cars, the hail was flying. But Timery looked over at us and said, “this was exactly what I was hoping for. Like just going out with a friend. The experience.” It was exactly how I felt and how blessed are we to have moments like that with people we’ve just met?
