Wild Ink Press

Last week, we had the pleasure of attending the grand opening of a fresh and unique letterpress studio in Chico called Wild Ink Press. (The website is being developed, but check back often!)  The owners, Matt and Rebekah Tennis are good friends and are both extremely talented.  The opening was AH-MAZING.  Every detail - the design, the food (by Bacio), the drinks and the company were carefully planned.  If you’ve never held a letterpressed card, you’re missing out.  Each card is hand printed with care on antique presses.  No one likes to work that hard for beautiful stationery anymore!  The finished product is really beautiful.  Thankfully, this almost lost art is taking on new life in our current era.

Here are a few shots from the evening.  We’re working on a second collage but alas, our husbands have been in Mendocino abalone diving the past few days and we’ve spent a HOT day at Cameron Park Lake with grumpy kids.  We’ve spent 2 hours making this collage and it’s now almost 1:00am and we want to watch a chick flick.  Call us selfish but the second installment will have to wait!WildInkPress

How interesting. I love that you showed those glorious machines. I remember seeing some in operation at Williamsburg and somewhere else when I was younger and I’ve always thought there was nothing like it. I can’t wait to see more details on their work.
